Hello everyone! Here you have my recipe for today. This is delicious for children and even for those who don´t like fish very much. This is a traditional recipe from southern Spain, where tuna is captured following one of the most ancient techniques, the Almadraba fishing. This sustainable fishing method has been used in the Strait of Gibraltar for about 3000 years, since Phoenician times. Tuna is a fatty fish highly consumed in Spain, it's a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids and it's also low in calories. I'm sure you are going to enjoy this tasty and healthy dish.
Ingredients:
(Serves 2)
250 g. tuna steaks (skinless and boneless)
1 green pepper
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
250 g. passata (mashed) tomato
150 g. plain flour
150 ml. extra virgin olive oil
Salt
Difficulty and cooking time:
Easy
30 minutes
Method:
Finely chop the garlic and julienne the onion and pepper.
Put 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a frying pan, add a little salt and stir- fry for about 8 minutes.
In the meantime dice the tuna steaks and salt to taste.
Coat the diced tuna in flour.
Put the olive oil in a frying pan over a medium heat and fry the diced tuna just for a couple of minutes.
Put the fried tuna on a dish with kitchen paper. This will absorb the unnecessary amount of oil.
When the onion is golden brown, add the fried tuna dices.
Then add the mashed tomato.
Stir-fry for 5 minutes and it is ready.
Serve hot with homemade potato wedges.
Enjoy it!
See you soon,
MarĂa
