Hello! My recipe for today is this delicious homemade pizza. The Italian and the Spanish cuisine are very similar, both belong to the
so called Mediterranean diet. Some of the most famous Italian recipes have become part of the Spanish diet too. My son loves Italian food and he always helps me to prepare this recipe. But not only children adore pizza, grownups too, so this is the perfect meal to enjoy with your family or friends. This is a healthy dish made with fresh ingredients, you can add your favourite toppings and combine different flavours.

300 ml water

Put the flour and the salt together in a large bowl. Make a well in the middle, add the egg and the extra virgin olive oil.
Pour the warm water into the well. The water mustn't be too hot, about 60ºC is enough, on the contrary the pizza dough won´t raise properly. Bring the flour in gradually from the sides and swirl it into the water using your hands or a spoon (If the dough is sticky, add some additional flour. If the dough is dry, then add additional water)
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Knead the dough using your hands until it comes together in a smooth, firm ball (About 10 minutes)
Place the dough ball in a warm place on a floured surface, so the dough won´t stick.
Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let rest for an hour. The dough will raise becoming double size.
In the meantime, slice your favourite toppings.
Finely cut the mozzarella balls.
When the dough is ready divide it into 4 equal-sized parts. Then roll out each piece of dough as thin and even as possible.
The thinner, the better.
Place the pizza dough on a baking tray. Spread the mashed tomato on the dough using a spoon.
Add the mozarella strips, and then the rest of the toppings.
Preheat the oven to 230ºC and bake each pizza for about 10 minutes, using the grill too.
Now our homemade pizza is ready.
Slice it and serve it hot.
I'm sure you'll like it!
Hopefully see you soon,
María
