Meatballs with Mushrooms

Hello everyone!
Here is my recipe for today. This is an easy dish to cook. It takes a little time to make the meatballs, but the result is much better than meatballs bought from supermarkets or shops.
My son loves helping me to make meatballs...so you've got the chance to let children participate with us and introduce them to the amazing world of cooking!
I've chosen Scotch beef mince to prepare this dish. I love its flavour! However you can also use pork or even mix both together..

Ingredients:

Serves 4

700 g Scotch beef mince
2 eggs
100 g natural breadcrumbs
200 g mushrooms
200 g plain wheat flour
Salt
Ground black pepper
Cayenne pepper
1clove of garlic
200 ml extra virgin olive oil
100 ml Spanish white wine
100 ml water

Difficulty and cooking time:

Easy
1 hour

Method:

 Whisk the eggs.

Add the beef mince, some salt and pepper and the breadcrumbs.

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly using a fork.

Wet your hands, so the mince won´t stick to them and make the meatballs.

Chop the garlic

Wash and slice the mushrooms.

Coat the meatballs in flour.

Put the extra virgin olive oil in a frying pan and fry the battered meatballs until they are done.

Place the meatballs in a pot.

Remove half the olive oil from the frying pan and add the garlic.

Add the sliced mushrooms and some salt, cook for 2 minutes and then add the white wine.

Then add the cayenne pepper.

Put the mushrooms in the pot together with the meatballs.

Add the water and cook for 10 minutes over a low heat, stirring from time to time.

Our dish is ready! Serve it hot with homemade fries, mashed potatoes or rice.

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do.

Hopefully see you soon!
