Hi everyone! Today I have prepared for you one of my favourite pasta dishes, spaghetti with prawns. This is a dish low in fat, made with healthy ingredients and very tasty and satisfying too. What I like most is that it only takes a few minutes to cook it! In Spain we prepare this recipe adding a pinch of saffron. We usually use saffron to provide flavour and colour to our dishes, although you can also cook the pasta without it. The tomato and the red pepper, together with the prawns are enough to give to your dish the best flavour and colour.
Ingredients:
Serves 4
300 g raw peeled prawns
400 g spaghetti
200 ml Spanish white wine
1 l boiling water
1 tomato
1 red pepper
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 pinch of saffron
50 ml extra virgin olive oil
Salt
Difficulty and cooking time:
Easy
20 minutes
Method:
Chop the onion, the pepper and the cloves of garlic.
Peel and dice the tomato.
Put the olive oil in a pot and stir- fry the chopped garlic, the onion and the red pepper for 5 minutes, until the onion and the garlic turn golden.
Then add the diced tomato and stir for a couple of minutes
When the tomato is done add the raw prawns and salt to taste.
Cook the prawns for 2 minutes and then add the white wine.
Cook for a couple of minutes until the alcohol from wine has burnt off and then add the boiling water.
Once boiling, add the spaghetti.
Then add the ground saffron or a pinch of saffron, and cook them for 7 minutes until the pasta has absorbed all the stock, stirring occasionally to stop the pasta from sticking.
Then our dish is ready.
I hope you enjoy this recipe.
See you soon!
